PROGRAM OVERVIEW

MISSION

The mandate of the Fédération de basketball du Québec is to ensure the development and promotion of basketball throughout Quebec.

PROGRAM OF EXCELLENCE

One of the Federation's main objectives is to organize and manage the excellence program. This consists of the espoir teams (Jeux du Québec), the sport-études and concentration programs, the men's and women's 14U, 15U and 17U Québec teams, and the women's team participating in the Jeux de la Francophonie.

The purpose of this program is to support and guide high-level athletes in their sporting development.

What differentiates Quebec Teams from other programs is the emphasis placed on the following components: Representation / Identification, Financial Assistance, Coaching and Sense of Belonging.

Quebec Teams are the only teams that allow the twelve best Quebec athletes aged 15 and under and 17 and under to compete against other provinces at an annual National Championship.

The competition circuit and national events enable athletes to be identified by coaches from national teams (Basketball Canada), CEGEPs and Canadian and American universities.

AU COEUR DU QUÉBEC

Throughout the summer of 2023, a video team followed the Quebec teams' preparations for the National Championships from the inside. In this documentary series, "Au coeur du Québec", go behind the scenes of this program of excellence, and discover how it works through interviews with the many athletes, coaches and professionals working on the periphery.

FROM COMPETITION TO EXCELLENCE

UNDER ARMOUR PARTNERSHIP

Since 2019, Basketball Quebec has been associated with the American brand that equips all of the federation's activities. Every athlete who is a member of the Quebec teams benefits from a complete set of high-quality equipment (shoes, jerseys, pants, etc.) throughout their time with the program.

SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL SUPPORT
